We're excited to introduce a major improvement to how payments work on WeTask, making transactions safer, more transparent, and better suited to jobs of any duration.

Whether you're posting a quick task or managing a larger project that takes weeks or even months to complete, WeTask now offers a secure way to handle payments from start to finish.

πŸ’³ Choose How You Want to Pay

Every task gives you the flexibility to choose how payment will be made:

  • Use WeTask Platform Payments (Recommended) – secure payment collection, held funds, dispute support, and a safer experience for everyone.

  • Pay Directly – arrange payment outside the platform if both parties prefer.

The Task Creator selects the preferred payment method when creating the task. Before work begins, both the Task Creator and Tasker must agree to the chosen payment method, ensuring everyone knows exactly how payment will be handled.

πŸ”’ Introducing WeTask Held Funds

For users who choose Platform Payments, WeTask now securely collects and holds the agreed payment until the task reaches its agreed outcome.

This provides greater confidence for both Customers and Taskers, particularly on larger projects that may take longer than a few weeks to complete.

When a Task is Accepted

Once a Tasker accepts the task and both parties agree to use Platform Payments:

  • βœ… The Customer's payment is securely processed.

  • βœ… The funds are held by WeTask while the work is being completed.

This means the Tasker knows the funds have been secured, while the Customer knows payment won't be released until the appropriate completion process has been followed.

βœ… When the Task is Completed

Once the task is completed:

  • Both parties confirm completion through the WeTask platform; or

  • The task is automatically completed if no response is received within the required timeframe; or

  • Completion is determined following a dispute review.

Once one of these completion events occurs:

  • βœ… Held funds are released to the Tasker's WeTask Wallet.

  • βœ… The Tasker can then withdraw the funds to their nominated bank account.

βš–οΈ If There's a Dispute

If either party disputes the completion of a task:

  • Payment is not released immediately.

  • The funds remain securely held by WeTask while the matter is reviewed.

  • Our team will assess the available information in accordance with our Dispute Resolution Policy before determining whether funds should be released, refunded, or otherwise dealt with under our platform policies.

This gives both Customers and Taskers added protection throughout the process.

❌ If the Task is Cancelled

If a task is cancelled before completion:

  • Held funds may be refunded in full or in part, depending on the circumstances.

  • Where necessary, funds may remain on hold while a cancellation or dispute is reviewed.

  • Refunds and payment outcomes are managed in accordance with our Cancellation Policy and Held Funds & Payment Release Policy.

πŸ’Ό Your WeTask Wallet

Once funds are released, they are credited to the Tasker's WeTask Wallet.

Taskers can:

  • Withdraw funds directly to their nominated bank account.

  • Keep funds in their wallet for future withdrawals.

  • View their wallet balance and transaction history within the app.

🀝 Clear Payment Agreements

To avoid misunderstandings:

  • The Task Creator selects the preferred payment method when posting a task.

  • Both parties must agree before work begins.

  • Once Platform Payments have been agreed, all payment handling takes place through WeTask.

This creates clear expectations and helps reduce payment disputes.

πŸ› οΈ Flexible Budgets

We've also made budgeting more flexible.

After reviewing a task, the agreed budget can be adjusted before work begins if both parties agree.

For example:

  • Increase the budget if additional work is required.

  • Reduce the budget if the task is simpler than originally expected.

This helps ensure pricing accurately reflects the work being completed.

πŸ’‘ Platform Fees

Our platform service fee hasn't changed.

The service fee continues to be charged when a task is accepted and remains separate from the payment held for the task itself.

πŸš€ Why This Matters

Our new payment system makes WeTask even better for both Customers and Taskers by providing:

  • Secure platform-managed payments.

  • Protection for larger projects that take weeks or months to complete.

  • Funds held until the agreed completion process has been followed.

  • Additional protection if disputes arise.

  • Greater confidence for both sides before work begins.

  • Clear payment expectations throughout every task.

Whether you're hiring someone for a one-hour job or a major renovation project, WeTask now provides a safer and more reliable way to manage payments from start to finish.
