WeTask Held Funds & Payment Release Policy

Effective Date: 5 July 2026

This Held Funds & Payment Release Policy ("Policy") explains how WeTask Limited ("WeTask", "we", "our", or "us") manages customer payments made through the WeTask platform.

This Policy forms part of the WeTask Terms and Conditions and applies whenever a Customer elects to use WeTask's Platform Payment system.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Policy is to provide a secure payment process that protects both Customers and Providers by:

  • Holding payments until agreed release conditions have been satisfied.
  • Reducing payment disputes.
  • Providing a fair process where work is disputed.
  • Supporting trust and confidence within the WeTask marketplace.

2. Definitions

  1. Customer means the user who posts a task.
  2. Provider (Tasker) means the independent service provider performing the task.
  3. Platform Payment means a payment processed through WeTask using an approved payment provider.
  4. Held Funds means money received by WeTask from a Customer for an accepted task that has not yet been released or refunded.
  5. Wallet means the Provider's WeTask account used to receive released funds before withdrawal.
  6. Release Event means an event that authorises WeTask to release Held Funds.

3. Platform Payment Service

  • The Customer authorises WeTask to collect payment for the agreed task amount
  • WeTask receives and holds the funds pending completion of the transaction;
  • The Provider agrees that payment will be received only through the WeTask Wallet unless otherwise authorised by WeTask.
  • Platform Payments are optional unless WeTask requires them for specific task categories.

4. Nature of Held Funds

Held Funds are maintained solely for facilitating marketplace transactions.

Held Funds:

  • Are not an investment product
  • Do not earn interest
  • Are not held for investment purposes
  • May be pooled with other platform funds where permitted by law
  • Remain subject to this Policy until released or refunded.

Nothing in this Policy creates a trust, escrow, fiduciary or agency relationship between WeTask and either party unless expressly required by applicable law.

Customer payments may be collected after:

  • Provider accepts the task
  • Both parties agree to use Platform Payments
  • Any required identity or fraud checks have been completed.

Both Customer and Provider confirm task completion.

6.2 Automatic Completion

The required response period expires without dispute and the task automatically completes under WeTask's Terms.

Refund decisions are made in accordance with the Cancellation Policy and Dispute Resolution Policy.
